Oh, The Joys of Child Rearing*** Sigh***

They say children soak up EVERYTHING they see and hear. I am a firm believer in that statement... Our days have been filled with a lot of these monkey see monkey do moments!

For Example:

The little miss decided to paint my smoothie all over the wall because I was painting out of a similar colored cup. The worst part is... it was so funny, I almost wet myself!

A normal morning involves making breakfast and eating at the table. Well... The Mr. of the house was super busy one morning so he grabbed a bowl cereal (which was quick and easy). Instead of sitting at the table, he walked around the kitchen while he ate. Rhya, being the smart little girl that she is, got up from the table and followed her father around with her bowl of cereal! I couldn't help but laugh!

This and That

We have decided to kick move our inside cat OUT. Here's why... when she gets jealous, mad, offended or just because, she would and will PEE EVERYWHERE AND ANYWHERE! This momma has finally had enough. So long story short...
 feline+outside= NO SMELLY PUDDLES! YES!!!
Oatie (the goat) has also moved to the barn... She was jumping up onto the washer/dryer and relieving herself on the clean clothes! That was the final straw for her as well

Here of late Rhya has been more trouble than not... INTO EVERYTHING. As a two and a half year old should be! Exploring the world ... shoving a whole roll of toilet paper in the toilet and FLUSHING! I think you all know how that ended! She has also been talking and when I say talking, I mean full sentences! She absolutely amazes me with what she learns and continues to soak in!

Rhya LOVES horses! LOVES, LOVES, LOVES HORSES!!!!! More so than a regular little girl. Almost all she thinks, plays and talks about is Mable (our paint mare).  Yes, she does play other things but her little world revolves around her animals. Much to my delight!

The Hog barn is now being gutted and re-done... sadly we knew we were going to have to replace and or fix 75% of the gates, scales, feed system... you get the idea... It was a very difficult decision but with a lot of prayer and consulting with our families, we felt it was the right move for our family. We only have a short time to get the remodel done before little pigs come in and we are so thankful we don't have to do it alone. Aside from the contractors, we have had wonderful friends (one of whom belongs to thefarmingmomma) help tear out the old equipment so the barn was ready for the contractors! I am very excited to see how the pigs will do in a pen barn vs. the scale barn we had! The barn will also be more family friendly so Rhya and I can check the pigs if Alan can't.

Rhya is thriving in Sunday school! It is such a joy to hear her sing praise songs, tell us about the bible stories she learns and just seeing her interacting with other children her age! Some of her favorite songs are "Running over" or as Rhya sings "Cows (CUP) runnin (running) away (over) ha ha funny how two year olds remember things! She also loves "Jesus loves me", "Deep and Wide", "Happy Birthday" and "This little light of mine". Oh how precious she is!

Now that Rhya is napping I should probably get something done around the house! Ha ha!

Photo Overload!

Our computer crashed and with it went most of our photos :( I do, however, have my iphone photos from the last few months :) Yeah!

We added this new addition to our family. Goodbye Jeep, Hello Mini Van!

Meet Oatie

Yes, she's a goat and in the house. Her momma didn't "want her" but wanted her sister so we took her under our wing :)

She's a chair warmer.

Spell checker.

Co- pilot.

Laundry fluffer.

Nap enforcer.

And snuggler!
She is now almost 2 months old and is gradually moving out to the barn with our horse Mable. She is quite the trouble maker (typical goat) but alot of fun!

Rhya spends many evening helping Alan check his pigs and LOVES when its time to load them onto the truck for hatfeild! (I think thats because the truck driver gives her candy when she's there!)
She graduated from watching to actally helping to hold a board while pigs fly past her! Yes, I'm right there and can pick her up if a pig decides to get a little nosier than we'd like.

Rhya is also a very good furnace "wood picker outer". Meaning she tells Alan which pieces to pick and he places them into the furnace! She also helps to carry the smaller ones so Alan doesn't have to do it ALL by himself!

Sadie got SKUNKED!!!!!!!! We got a call at about 8:45pm earlier this week from my dad needing some  peroxide. Luckily we had plenty so we headed over to help de-skunk.

THE BEST RECPIE TO DE-SKUNK ANYTHING!

Dish soap
baking soda
peroxide

I'm not sure what the ratios are but you can find the recipe online.

Hopefully I will have more photos and funny stories to come in the near future!
